X is set to update its privacy policy starting November 15, 2024, You may have seen a pop-up in the app this week informing you of a change to its Terms of Service. This is set to introduce provisions that permit X to use user data for training AI models.
This change includes a clause allowing the platform to share user information with third-party collaborators for AI training purposes.
The major update found in the “Your Rights and Grant of Rights in the Content” section, explicitly states that user posts may be used to train AI models. While the policy mentions that users can opt-out, the method for doing so remains unclear, as there seems to be no direct control within the settings menu for opting out of data sharing.
In addition to this update, X is also tightening its policies to impose stricter penalties on entities caught scraping large amounts of tweets to protect its content and data from misuse.
