Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) Kicks Off

The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) started on Monday, October 28th, with over 1.3 million candidates taking the exam in 35,573 centres countrywide. The assessment marks a significant phase in the ongoing Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) program and will run up to October 30th.

On the first day, candidates sat for the mathematics paper in the morning, followed by the English paper in mid-morning. Today, students will sit for Integrated Science in the morning and Kiswahili or Kenyan Sign Language later in the day. On the final day, the candidates do Creative Arts and Social Studies.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba oversaw the distribution of exam papers from the Kenya National Examinations Council’s headquarters in Nairobi. KPSEA is a vital step in the CBC system, designed to assess students’ holistic development and readiness for the next educational level.
