Manchester United Sacks Erik Ten Hag After Two-and-a-Half Years as Manager

News about Erik Ten Hag’s sacking shocked the world as Manchester United announced the manager’s departure following a lackluster season start, with the team now in 14th place in the Premier League. The club’s board reached the unanimous decision less than 24 hours after a controversial 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed as interim head coach, stepping in while United begins the search for a permanent replacement. The change aims to reverse the club’s fortunes and bring stability to a season already marked by struggles on the pitch.

The club’s co-owners, INEOS, who had shown confidence in ten Hag by extending his contract through 2026, supported the decision, highlighting their commitment to restoring Manchester United’s competitive standing.
