During a sunrise flight over Egypt’s Great Pyramids this week, US paraglider Marshall Mosher and his team encountered an unusual sight; a stray dog pacing along the summit of one of the pyramids.
Known for providing breathtaking views of ancient landmarks, the paragliders were startled to see an animal at the top of the monumental structure. Mosher shared that the group initially thought the moving figure atop the Khafre Pyramid, the second tallest at 448 feet, might be a mountain lion. As they zoomed in with their phones, they discovered it was a stray dog that appeared to be chasing birds
The Khafre Pyramid, along with other pyramids in Giza, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with strict regulations to preserve its historical integrity. How the dog managed to scale the ancient structure remains a mystery.
