President Ruto Attends the 23rd COMESA Summit in Burundi

President William Ruto has travelled to Burundi today, Thursday, October 31 to participate in the 23rd Summit of COMESA Heads of State and Government in Bujumbura. This year’s event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the COMESA, one of the continent’s key economic alliances.

In a statement, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed emphasized the importance of this year’s summit as a milestone for COMESA’s role in advancing regional trade and cooperation. Leaders at the summit are expected to address strategic initiatives for boosting trade, economic integration, and development across member states.

COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa), which unites 21 African nations, represents a combined market of 640 million people and a GDP of Ksh.128 trillion. It is one of the largest trading blocs on the continent.
