Turkey Strengthens African Ties, Urges Support for Palestine at Djibouti Summit

Turkey reaffirmed its commitment to deepening relations with African nations and called for African support for Palestinians during its recent African ministerial summit in Djibouti. The summit highlighted Turkey’s strategic partnership with the continent, underscoring efforts to foster closer economic and diplomatic ties.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who led the summit, shared that trade between Turkey and Africa reached over $35 billion last year – with direct Turkish investments totalling $7 billion. Representatives from 14 African countries, including Nigeria, Egypt, and Zambia, attended the summit this past weekend.
