Google Calendar is finally getting a dark mode for its web version, bringing a highly requested feature to its users. Alongside dark mode, Google is also rolling out a refreshed user interface designed to be more modern and accessible, with improvements to buttons, sidebars, and typefaces.
The update, which started rolling out this week, will soon be available to everyone, including users with personal Gmail accounts and paid Google Workspace subscriptions. This broad rollout ensures that all Google Calendar users will soon experience the new look and feel of the platform.
According to an update on the Google Workspace blog, the updated UI will feature rounded, pill-shaped icons and dialogue boxes, moving away from the sharper edges of the previous design. The dark mode and these softer design elements are part of Google’s ongoing effort to enhance user experience.
