Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu on Monday ordered the release of 30 minors arrested during the August protests.
The 30 were among 76 people arrested in Abuja and charged with treason and incitement to overthrow the government.
Their capture sparked international outrage and criticism, with Amnesty international condemning their “horrifying detentions for participating in protests against hunger and corruption.”
Some of the minors have fainted in court, and others appeared so malnourished they could barely stand.
