The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared four candidates so far to run for the August 9 General Election.
Those cleared are;
1. Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza
2. Hon. Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja
3. Prof. George Wajackoyah of Roots Party
4. David Mwaura of Agano Party
While presenting his papers on Saturday, William Ruto expressed confidence in the IEBC and promised to work with the body.
“We are confident that you are up to the task and I want to commit that my team in Kenya Kwanza and I will work with you diligently so that we can have a credible, free, fair, democratic, and verifiable election,” he observed.
Retired Prime Minister, Raila Odinga was the fifth candidate to be cleared to run for the presidency on Monday.
He was in the company of his running mate Martha Karua and other Azimio coalition members.
